How much does quality inspection cost in Vietnam?

Primo Sourcing charges $180–280 USD per inspector per day for on-site quality control inspections. This includes inspection, AQL sampling, defect classification, and a detailed report with photos. QC is also included in our full sourcing service (5–8% of FOB).

Why Quality Control in Vietnam Matters

Our Inspection Types

Pre-Production Inspection (PPI)

When: Before manufacturing begins

Verify raw materials, components, colors, and production setup match your approved specifications. Catches material-level issues before they become product defects.

We check: Raw material quality, dimensions, colors, component availability, production plan review

During Production Inspection (DUPRO)

When: At 20–40% completion

Check the first production run against your approved sample. Catch defects early when corrective action is still easy and inexpensive.

We check: Product dimensions, functionality, appearance, workmanship, assembly, packaging components

Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

When: When 80–100% complete

Final comprehensive check of finished goods before shipping. This is the last quality gate before products leave the factory.

We check: Full AQL sampling, functionality testing, labeling, packaging, shipping marks, quantity verification

Container Loading Supervision

When: During loading

On-site supervision of container loading to verify quantity, product condition, loading method, and container condition.

We check: Quantity count, product condition, loading arrangement, container cleanliness, seal number confirmation

Our AQL Inspection Standards

We follow AQL 2.5 (Acceptable Quality Level) international sampling standards by default. This means:

Defect Classification

We classify defects into three categories following international standards:

Critical defects — Safety hazards or non-compliance with regulations. Zero tolerance.
Major defects — Functional issues or significant visual flaws that affect usability or salability.
Minor defects — Small cosmetic issues that do not affect function or are unlikely to be noticed by end users.

Inspection Report

After each inspection, you receive a detailed report within 24 hours, including:

Overall PASS / FAIL / PENDING result
High-resolution photos of products, defects, and packaging
Defect details with classification and quantities
Dimensional and functional test results
AQL calculation and sampling data
Corrective action recommendations (if FAIL)

What happens if products fail inspection?

We do not approve shipment. We work with the factory on corrective actions and re-inspect. If the factory cannot fix the issues, we help source an alternative.

Can I use my own QC standards instead of AQL?

Yes. We can inspect to your custom specification, buyer QC manual, or any international standard you require.

How quickly do I receive the inspection report?

Within 24 hours of the inspection, you receive a full report with photos via email.

Do you inspect furniture differently than textiles?

Yes. Each product category has specific inspection criteria. Furniture inspections include moisture testing, load testing, and finish quality. Textile inspections focus on color matching, stitching, fabric weight, and washing performance.

Can you inspect at factories you didn't source?

Yes. Many clients ask us to inspect at factories they found themselves or through other channels.
